(I introduced myself a long time ago and was going to wear 3sixteen SL-130x 17oz but lost way too much weight shortly after DWC started, so here I am again.. starting over with something that actually fits. Happy to be back again!) Here goes:
I’m Johan, 35yrs old from Malmö/Sweden. Currently unemployed (due to health issues) which totally blows but besides that I love gokarting, swimming, movies/tvshows, hockey(!), cats, snus, collect stuff like CD/Vinyl, biking, urban exploration and a bunch of other stuff… and of course denim.
What else is there…, love photography! So much I took a step back in technology and started to use film again. Black & White, C41, E6! Which I actually develop in my own kitchen (anyone dare to come over for dinner?!).
Me and my gf also have 5 crazy cats. Almost all of them I’ve rescued myself and given a proper home here at our place. They are awesome! I also help out when I can at the local cat shelter.(warning, cat dude alert..!)
Thats about it!

Been a bit busy with LIFE so I haven’t been able to post anything so here goes, major update part 1:
CHALLENGE: Cat Day Denim
I wasn’t exactly planning something like this for the challenge but yeah.. ! Sometime in january we decided to take one of our cats to the vet and do a regular checkup. I already knew there were something wrong with his teeth but wasn’t too worried, until they told me he had FORL (third cat to have it btw), which is VERY painful.. poor little guy.. 🙁
The only option is to extract the bad tooth (in this case: 6) which is rather expensive too since the insurance company here in Sweden doesn’t cover the costs at all (when it comes to FORL), we’re talking about 4k-10k SEK.. (depends how bad it is) CASH! It’s quite a lot of money but hey.. , when it comes to our cats I will happily pay whatever it is as long as they are OK and not in any pain!
A few hours after it was time to pick him up and go home, man.. was I worried (as usual) but it all worked out quite alright. The clinic gave us a nice discount and some free food which was rather nice! He sure looks a bit funny now as he is missing one of those big “fangs”. Some photos:
This doesn’t look good! (now gone)
Alright, let’s go!
This look like a good place to chill.
Common.. , pet me!
A worried guy (me) and Mr. Zingo
The day after, good to be home!
Bonus pic.. 🙂 Taken a few days earlier!
Let’s go back in time a little! At one point during summer 2015 me and my gf tried to capture an adult female cat near a fish market here in Malmö. Shortly after word got around that a fisherman had seen kittens too so we decided to help bring them in as well.
The mother and brother was captured quite fast while the last one (female) was a bit shy so we started to put food at the place 2 times/week, hoping she get more comfortable to be around us.. or at least show herself.. cause every time we went there the food was gone so we figured she at least ate it. And this routine continued for several months!
Around December that year it started to get REALLY cold and not many had seen her so we started to wonder if she was still there? One night we put food there as usual.. and suddenly saw a small thing crossing the street fast as hell, maybe it was her.. maybe it wasn’t? Quite dark around that time of the year. We reported back that we had seen something but wasn’t 100% sure. The dance continued for about a month.. no sightings.. a bit frustrating and VERY VERY COLD. The fit pics in my original post are taken there by the way.
More people from the shelter started to put food during the weeks and one of the girls finally discovered her, eating. 🙂 FINALLY!
So we started to go there 3-4 times/week and put food, placed blankets here and there, built some tiny stuff for her to sleep in or keep herself warm as it started to get even colder outside and we all felt we had to do something! After a while she started to show up more and more and at one point she started to get real close, so close she almost ate directly from our hands. It was quite cool.. 🙂 Now was probably the best time to capture her..!
Early February, after trying and failing several times with the trap during night we decided to try it with the worst trap we had.. in full daylight instead (you never know!).
That day I had my doubts so I brought my Hasselblad camera to shoot some film nearby while my gf ran around all over the place, looking, even playing cat sounds on her phone (lol). And suddenly after 2hrs I hear a big bang.. and my gf screams to me: WE GOT HER! I pack my stuff as fast as I can and ran to the car, we load the cat, the trap.. everything as quickly as possible and go straight to the shelter! SUCCESS!!!!!!
I must say, this little cat is one of the cutest I’ve ever seen.. haha.. my heart totally melted. I even tried to convince my gf to adopt her but no go.. :p I am 100% sure she will find a good, loving home real soon! Some pics:
The brother (captured).
Months later, hello there..! 🙂
After a while..
Food in there..?
Will it work..? 🙂
Quarantine for 2 weeks. Latest news from shelter is, she isn’t afraid, you can pet her which is great. <3
I will post some photos I took that day in another post later on tonight!
EOF Challenge!March 4, 2016 at 9:19 pm #6678
Alright, major update part 2! Lots of things has been going on lately.. read all about it bellow.. Last thing is probably the best thing.. HINT: some pics of jeans and other fun (maybe not so fun for YOU but for ME) stuff.. :p (If you don’t want to read all about the nerdy stuff, skip it!)
First, here are some crappy photos of that day when we captured the cat, everything taken with my lovely Hasselblad 500 C/M camera:
Alright, not so much.. LOL. But better than nothing, no? Moving on!
Some stuff I’ve been doing lately!
WARNING REAL GEEKY STUFF BELLOW!
Ok, so.. I bought this none working Hasselblad A12 back for 56 SEK (about 5 bucks, superdupermega cheap!). It had some advance problems and would cause the camera to jam a little now and then when advancing the next frame. After tearing the entire thing apart the problem was quite clear, a new nylon stop was needed (and a few other parts).. and for those who doesn’t know what I’m talking about here (or wish to skip this part, don’t read it):
As you wind the body, the body gear winds this magazine gear, which, in turn, advances the film. Just before the winding cycle of the body has been completed the gear in the magazine, under spring tension, snaps back to the original position. The nylon stop is what stops the gear in the correct position… So, as the nylon stop wears the opening in the magazine gear gets lower and lower.
When it gets low enough, here’s what happens: The first tooth on the body gear, which used to go into the opening in the magazine gear, hits the first tooth in the magazine gear. When this happens, you will feel a binding sensation when you start to wind the body. This is due to the fact that the tooth on the body gear, which used to go into the opening in the magazine gear, is now hitting the first tooth. Not good. It will push the magazine slightly away from the body, allowing light to enter between them, which will cause a light leak.. among other problems.
I got in touch with a real nice guy in the states, and he was very kind and sent me spare parts for free.. as he thought it was funny that a guy from Sweden needed to score parts in the states for his Swedish camera.. 😀
Also replaced locking spring and light seal. 🙂 Good as new, saved myself 100-150 bucks (that’s how much a good/used back costs!). Also fixed another back later that week.
Some nerdy pics bellow:
See that little plastic-thing? Replaced!
Old vs. New (and old locking spring)
Changing light seal/trap
Two working backs again, awesome!
END OF GEEKY STUFF!
So we need to test these out.. just to make sure, but first we need to mix some fresh XTOL so we can actually develop some black and white film..
This kind of fit me, no?
Yeah I know, I skipped the mixing part but here it is anyways.. tastes good.. :S
Here are some photos I took a weeks ago or so..:
Ilford FP4 + Kodak XTOL
Apparently someone took a photo of me wearing my precious 19oz jeans
Meh.. , a bit boring.. let’s try some C41 color film instead!
Decided to take a small trip and check if my C41 chems were still working (they did :)), the instructions on the package says 24 weeks (once mixed) or something like that and 16 rolls only. Alright, it’s been 13 months and I’ve developed 38 rolls in the same chemistry! I mixed this batch back in january (2015) LOL, good value for money!
BTW, doesn’t it look quite awesome.. that viewfinder.. ! (yeah.. blurry picture but it was rather COLD..)
And you can even see my jeans! Which it’s all about anyways, hold on a second!
Random sunset at Klagshamn/Malmö/Sweden. About a week ago.
This one came out quite alright!
That’s about it! Enough goofing around for today! Moving on to the actual JEANS and some other stuff that’s been going on today!
Let’s go, the fun stuff.. 🙂
Me and my gf is finally getting married.. 🙂 🙂 So we’ve been checking out a few different churches (will probably visit a few more), we kind of like this small church in Limhamn.
Nervous? Me? YES!
We are very excited! 😀
Here they are.. been wearing these since January 1st.. so about two months.., will take some better photos later on!
Have a great weekend everyone!April 27, 2016 at 7:34 pm #6819
So, not much has happened lately.. :p Actually.. lots of things but nothing fun really..! I sent my Hasselblad camera to germany for an overhaul, it came back good as new..:)) That’s the only good thing so far.. as I have been to the dentist like 4 times already this month and heading back there tomorrow (will it ever end..?).
Took a small trip to Ljunghusen (about 20 minutes away with car, beautiful place!) with my gf the other day. The weather was great! Here is me wearing my 19oz + my heavy camerabag.. phew.., some fades can be seen (finally):
One of many photos I took that day, developed at home in Kodak XTOL.
The day after we decided to take another trip, this time to Skanör (very close to Ljunghusen). Me and my gf and her sisters + boyfriend tagged along. Had some dinner and just walked around on the beach. Quite nice! Found this pier and I just had to walk on it, dissaster..! Towards the end it hit me.. “gotdamn.. I am afraid of heights.. HELP!” LOL.. gf had to come out and help me to shore.. :p Some pics of the epic failure:
I really wanna keep going..! -You sure?
OH crap! (I totally froze, couldn’t move at all haha..)
Walk of shame.., gf thought it was funny.. :p
Took some photos of the jeans today:
Starting to see something, wohoo..! That’s about it! Have a good one! 🙂May 2, 2016 at 5:57 pm #6834

Thanks buddy! 🙂 Cats are awesome! 😀June 25, 2016 at 11:12 am #6920
It’s very hot in Sweden right now.. (melts away). Haven’t worn my jeans much during this month (maybe 5-10 times, did I mention it’s HOT?).
Also, we got this dress code at “work” (yeh.. I’m out exploring the world and doing this work rehab thing, I like it..! It’s fun..!) which has “forced” me to wear my black raws instead (woho..) 🙂
Anyways, hope to wear these soon again, but not too soon! Gotta enjoy the summer while it lasts.. hehe.. 🙂

I will cover this in two parts (lots of text and pictures),
First of all, sorry for the slow updates..! In the middle of planning a wedding and on top of that my phone went flying a while back ago.., just got a new one so here are a big fat update on how things are going..!
This poor fella flew from the 3rd floor balcony! Totally trashed! I was a bit lucky with the insurance company as my phone were 10 days shy of being 1 year old so they paid 75% of the value.. off I went and bought a Samsung Galaxy S7 instead (awesome phone btw..!):
Summer in Sweden has been rather awful but perfect for football! Me and a couple of old friends has been playing a lot lately which has been very very fun!
Haha, not much action going on, we are OLD and after a couple of hours it’s impossible to do anything else.. but rest! It has been very fun, most of them I haven’t seen for over 20yrs so it has been awesome to get back in touch again! Our last game is on sunday, going to be great..! 😉
Meanwhile, me and my gf (soon to be wife.. hehe) tried to catch some sun at the beach, horrible summer.. ! I did get a little color and took a swim or two.. that’s about it! I hope next year is better!
Anyways, not much to do when the weather is crap.. so we thought a roadtrip to Ystad was a good idea, apparently there were some kind of market going on plus I bought a new lightmeter from an old gentlemen, win-win situation (as gf wanted to walk around in Ystad and the seller was located there as well.. hehe). Quite nice!
I really tried NOT to wash these raws for as long as possible but after lots and lots of wear I just had to soak them (yuck..!)
the water eventually turned into a nice brown color.. nasty, haha..
End of PART 1.
